Going Beyond Technique!

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

When the mind becomes “fixated” or stopped, thinking something over or hyper-focusing on something, it congeals, much like water turns to ice.

When water turns to ice it can no longer go where it wants to go, it’s stuck. Thus, to have an effective mind, do not stop the mind anywhere.

When you focus on your opponent’s attack, the mind fixes on the opponent and you will be defeated.

When you focus on her beauty, the mind congeals and for some reason she can’t explain, she loses attraction for you.

If you focus on the end of the world, your mind fixes on doom and gloom and you miss the beauty of a simple sunset, or watching flowers grow.

Winning race-car drivers have said in interviews “if you focus on the wall, you hit the wall.”

Do not fixate at all, simply keep the mind free and flowing. Then, you will intuit victory like water intuits a way into or around something.

Then, you will evade and strike your opponent a hairbreadth’s moment before his strike lands on you.

Then, when you are attacked by 10 men, your mind will not stop on any one of them and thus be overwhelmed, but instead you will flow one man to one man, destroying each one at a time as if time itself seems to stop.

Then, she will find you fascinating and unlike other men and want to know more about you.

This is the state of Mushin, and this is what is meant by the statement “Be Like Water.” This is the “Effective Mind.”

This is beyond “technique” itself, and goes into the realm of intuition and mastery of life and time itself.

You can discover how to master this state, and use it effectively in your personal life, in my Mastery Membership series.

The mind can easily become fixated on anything at all – even on not being fixated! This is the trap of the mind that almost no one understands. But now that you have read this, you are beginning to understand aren’t you?

Now ask yourself – what have you been “fixated” on? That is what has been slowing you down, not the thing itself, but your fixation on it.

Free yourself up by letting go and floating above it.

Remember, if you fixate on “letting go,” you are still fixated.

Simply do not let the mind stop ANYwhere on ANY thing. Then when you need the mind to be somewhere, it will be Free to be where you need it, when you need it, at FULL POWER rather than partial power because part of the mind will not be fixated elsewhere.

Make sense? This can seem esoteric, but if you truly understand it, you will realize it is the most simple thing in the world, and that having an ineffective mind is the cause of all of your afflictions.

In fact, it is the Master Key to Mental Warfare. Societal manipulators, social programmers, and advertisers use it every day.

In commercials the images are designed to stop your mind and get you to fixate on the stimulus and associate it to the product being advertised.

Now ask yourself this – how can you ecologically and use this to persuade others? I’m sure you can now see that the possibilities are limitless!

When truly Free, the mind becomes effective.

Combined with the specific techniques you’ve studied, and the new ones you’ll learn in the Mastery Membership series, you are on your way!

The levels you only dreamed possible, are now possible.

Confessions of a Martial Arts Millionaire – Part 2

Sunday, March 21st, 2010

Thank you for an overwhelming response to part one of this series!

Now, in the last part we dealt with some foundational aspects of becoming a Martial Arts Millionaire. Today we’ll have just a few
more foundational aspects before we go on to the direct-cash-making elements.

I know you’re smart enough to realize that these concepts not only apply in martial arts and making money – but in all areas of life.

Remember, a house is only as strong as its foundation. If you go for the cash without the foundation, you’ll end up broke, or even worse, a rich idiot. As the good book says “a fool and his money will soon part ways”

Which leads us to

Martial Arts Millionaire Secret #3

Never sacrifice Your Integrity

I would say “never sacrifice your integrity for money”, but the fact is you should never sacrifice your integrity for anything at all. Ever.

In the Seven virtues of Bushido, this is known as “gi”, translated as “Rectitude.” Far more than a simple moral lesson on “being good”, it is foundational integrity to it’s core, the first step of all good success.

Martial Arts Millionaire Secret #4

Retain Your Center

Once you’ve removed the influence of negative people and discovered what you like in order to make it fun, while retaining Makoto (purity of spirit) by never sacrificing your integrity, you’ll find your center, your place of balance.

This is a huge key!

Operating from a place of Balance, when you hit a bump you don’t go flying – instead you quickly adjust and retain your stride and progress. Does that make sense?

Balance of mind, body and spirit are necessary for lasting success.

Yesterday we talked about those negative people who knowingly or unknowingly try to throw you off balance. In most cases, they are doing it out of ignorance because they themselves are unbalanced. Everyone is broadcasting who and what they are in everything they do. Essentially, your life is your message. What is your message?

You can always ask yourself this: “what message are they REALLY trying to give me?” Usually it’s not the one they think they are trying to send.

Likewise ask yourself, “what message am I REALLY sending?” It’s most likely not the one you thought you were sending. Yet now that you know this, you can more directly match your actions with your intentions, bringing about far superior manifestations (also known as “Results!”)

So retain your center. Avoid being impelled off-balance by any mental, verbal or even physical attack. When you are
rooted in integrity, you always know where you stand.

You’re also programmed through conditioning to throw yourself off-balance. Yep. But now you’ll begin to notice when “you’re doing it again” and catch it and re-direct it to a more powerful state of being in balance.

Listen up, friend: any goal you want to achieve is like hitting a target. You will hit it more effectively if your position is solid and balanced.

Try this on a punching bag: lean forward with your legs straight and off-balance and strike the bag.

See how that feels.

Then, bend your knees and take a horse-stance in front of the bag and strike it, turning your hips and body with the punch.

See the difference? It’s like night and day, isn’t it?

And that’s how we go about life most of the time, striking out at what we want from a place of imbalance and then wondering why we didn’t get the results. Had enough of that?

Well now you know better and you’ll be much more effective, won’t you? Welcome to the Martial Mastery way of life!

By retaining your center, you consolidate your efforts into maximum effectiveness.

The center of the wheel does the least amount of work, yet causes the greatest amount of accomplishment. Start being the axle and stop being the rubber tire!

Martial Arts Millionaire Secret #5

Energy First, Last and Always!

Energy is love. Energy is money. Energy is awareness. Energy is life itself. When something is dead it has no more…energy!

Let’s call Energy “Chi”, or “life force.” Low or weak Chi is the cause of confusion, dis-ease, misdirection, failure and death.

So whatever faces you, and how you go about life, always ask: “How will this affect my Chi (energy)?”

You’ll notice yourself doing things that are profitable, from the way you conduct yourself in business, to the way you think, even the way you eat and breathe!

Fantastic, isn’t it?

Enough for now. You’ve got plenty here to work with. Take a good solid look at your own life now and ask
yourself if you’re ready.

I’ll share the next steps with you soon!

Makoto,

Confessions of a Martial Arts Millionaire

Saturday, March 20th, 2010

I often get asked “how can I make it?” and “how can I succeed like you did?”

If they’re sincere and straightforward, I’m happy to answer, and many of those folks have used my ideas for their own success. Huge success. Big-time.

Then there are those jealous types who for some odd reason point a finger and say “you’re only in it for the money, you’re just a sales thing, etc”

What they fail to realize is that they are the ones looking at and thinking about money. It is an issue THEY are stuck on and having trouble with. Perception is projection! We tend to project onto others that which we ARE.

So here’s Martial Arts Millionaire Secret #1:

No Negative People!

“What I teach people just
Requires you not to take
On the confusion of others.
Act when necessary,
Without further hesitation or doubt.
When students today do not attain this,
Wherein lies their sickness?
The sickness is in not
Trusting yourself.
If your inner trust is insufficient,
Then you will frantically go along
With changes in situations,
And will be influenced and
Affected by myriad objects,
Unable to be independent.
If you can stop the mentality
Of constant frantic seeking,
Then you are no different
From Zen masters and Buddhas.
- Master Linji (d. 866)”

Negative people knowingly or unknowingly Psychically attack you. They drain your energy and confuse you. You end up with their limitations imposed on you.

By applying the “No Negative People!” rule, you protect and harness your energy, and the quality of your life in general.

Misery loves company and the prideful hate to see someone else succeed. It’s a sad part of human nature that those who don’t succeed…blame others!

Which is why they don’t succeed in the first place: instead of faithfully focusing on their own gifts and opportunities, they sneeringly focus on others. What a sad waste of time, energy and intention!

” Now the works of the flesh are evident …enmity,
strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions,
divisions, envy… and things like these. I warn you,
as I warned you before, that those who do such things
will not inherit the kingdom…” Gal. 5:19-21 (ESV)

Stay away from folks like that, because we tend to become like those we spend time with. Ignore those with negative vibes and jealous eyes and…

… Go for your dreams!

…which leads us to Martial Arts Millionaire Secret #2:

Focus On What You Like

Yes, focus on what you like. See how that’s different than focusing on what you “want?” “Wanting” subconsciously implies lack and neediness. Yet when you like something, really like it, then you “enjoy it.”

And if you enjoy it, you tend to want to do it more, whenever possible, right?

I LIKE Martial Arts – physical, mental and spiritual. I always have, even since I was a little kid, and I ENJOY working in it, so it isn’t really “work” is it? It’s fun! Martial Arts is fun for me. So making money is fun for me.

This is a key concept. When you make it fun, it becomes easy. This is the secret to so-called “easy money” in the real sense. It isn’t that you don’t earn it or exchange a value for it. It’s just that it’s so much fun, you look forward to it and gain momentum in it… your energy multiplies and you become a powerhouse, making it look and feel very easy!

Okay. That’s all for today. Tomorrow I’ll give you more. Let’s re-cap today’s two secrets:

1. No Negative People!

2. Focus on What YOU Like …(not what you’re told by others to like)

By consistently applying just these two alone, you’ll now start to notice an amazing difference in your life. And ask yourself this… “how else can I apply these two steps in other areas of my life?”

Tomorrow… Part 2!

Powerful Words of Wisdom

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

• Adam did not lead, he followed. And he lost paradise.

• Life is made of Energy. The wise protect it and cultivate it.

• Energy is primarily leaked through thought and speaking.

• Only when we leave the Mechanical, can we begin to enter the Spiritual

• Awareness exists outside of the mechanical

• Turn off the chatterbox of your mind, then you can expand your peripheral vision and “see” the attacker before he even makes a move! The same goes with opportunities…

• Never Emotionally Invest in the Prideful, Greedy, Jealous or Self-Righteous, they will take you for granted and blame you if they fail.

• Never say what you don’t want to happen, for example “I’m worried that you’ll steal my idea.” By saying so, you may be planting the seed of thought in their minds for them to steal your idea, whereas they may have never thought of it had you not mentioned it.

• Speak Powerfully, not timidly. Say what you mean with no doubt fear worry or hesitation.

• Think Powerfully! When you are thinking fearfully timidly or delusional, say out loud “stop! think Powerfully!”

• No negative friends.

• Character is the basis for relationship. Not religion, race or creed. The question is: what is their character? After establishing that, Intelligence is the basis for continued relationship! The question is: are they intelligent?

• When the attacker trying to kill you is so strong and big they seem impossible to hurt? Target “BENT!” Balls Eyes Nose Throat – at least one of these is fragile on any person. I have seen men kicked in the balls full-force and not appear hurt. I’ve seen a nose smashed and the guy kept on fighting powerfully. Yet likewise I have seen men stopped cold by them. Target all four and you’re more likely to get the right one!

• Arguing common sense is a fool’s errand

• Think “Business,” not “Job.” This is vital!

• Eat Protein before and during Traveling, it burns slower so you get hungry less and eat less

• If you find yourself captivated by sensuality – such as a sex scene in a movie – ask yourself, “am I Pavlov’s dog?” YOU should chose when you are stimulated, or would you rather leave that to Pavlov?

• The basis of freedom is choice. If you cannot control your response to a stimulus, you are little more than a dog (if this makes you mad, you are welcome to never come back to this blog – say Hi to Pavlov!)

• You are either the Director, or the “directed.”

• It is lonely at the top. People react to the success of others like LSD – they trip out and hallucinate! So don’t worry about everybody liking you. Just go for your dream and better friends will find you.

• Studying the Ancient Wisdom of the Saints, Sadhus, Samurai, Ninja and others is useful empowering and enlightening. Why are some people afraid of this information?

• The triceps is the power behind the punch (not the bicep, although it looks good!)

• Practice complete silence of environment and mind for 10 minutes a day and your success will multiply!

• Where are you weak? On the ground? Kicking? Wherever it is, start sparring there! Yep.

• There’s always someone who can beat you. That’s okay. You can still make them pay VERY dearly for the privilege, and they may be wise enough to realize it’s not worth it to beat you.

• When you are attacked, do not try to avoid being hurt. It is a sure way to defeat.

• Respect the privacy of others, and honor everyone

• Reciprocate invitations – if they invited you over, invite them over next time. You’d be surprised how many forget this and wonder why they never heard from so-and-so again.

• Whatever you do, make sure you enjoy doing it. Fun is a HUGE key to success.

• The moment a Saint becomes aware of himself, sainthood is lost (read that again)

• Money is necessary. Have a good sum of it. But if that is what is most important to you, you have lived in illusion.

• You’re losing your teen because you outsourced their training and development. Why did you have him or her in the first place? For your portfolio? Time spent together consistently, away from electronic stimulus, is the cure for this. Start now.

• If she feels empowered by getting attention for her sexiness, you are marrying a problem. A big problem.

• If he feels empowered by impressing your female friends, you are marrying a problem. A big problem.

• Randomness in your actions is good training – examples are standing in a corner, facing a wall stand 2 inches from it, doing a shoulder roll in the hallway, All dressed up in your shirt and tie? Go hit the bags. Practicing slow kicks while filling the tank. Busting out in song in public (I have scored BIG with this one!). These are all examples of “Broken Rhythm” (Bruce Lee students take note)

• Bring your awareness to how you walk. Notice it? Good. Now straighten up and bring to every movement THE POWER OF INTENTION AND PURPOSE.

• It’s easy to see the thoughts of others and sense their energy when you look at them through a NON-ATTACHED MIND!

• When you are attached to your desires, you put out a “pushing-away” energy.

• When you are attached to you own desires and conclusions, you see people and circumstances as YOU are (This is what is meant by the term “perception is projection”). By being non-attached, you can see how they REALLY are (this is called “awareness”)

• Lose out in the market? Blow a big deal? Lose a ton of money? Good. Welcome to life. Now go out there and kick some ass! Or would you rather sit around and whine? Or would you rather sit around and be afraid?

• Shed the emotional attachment to the past, it’s like an addiction to prescription drugs – it’s effecting your clear judgment and hindering your advancement. Flush the pills! Clear the slate and go out there and kick some ass.

• Look them in the eye and tell the truth

• You allowed yourself to be put in a box – democrat, republican, religious, atheist, etc. How much can one see from the inside of a box?

• At every moment, these questions define you: Is that who you are? Is that what you’re really about?

• Your Intuition and your Conscience are your most valuable assets

• Be Still and Know (the opposite is also true: Be un-still and you’ll be ignorant!)

• There are teachers, fighters and technicians. Rare is one who is all three, or even a combination of the two.

• The envious will try to make you feel guilty if you make money. It is they who are fixated on money.

• Genuine Modesty is priceless. False Modesty is worthless.

• Fear will always remain when you are attached to the outcome.

• “The Busy Mind” is a state of perpetual hypnosis. Read it again. You can wake up now. Welcome back!

• Secure your home. Now.

• Lay down the rules right at the start. If you neglected to do this, lay them down right now before proceeding forward.

• Stepford wives, Stepford people. They are shallow and should be avoided.

• It’s easy to see the thoughts of others, it is a matter of letting it be seen.

• Run out ahead of them and beat them to the punch!

• Cause or Effect. Which side are you on?

• Design or Default. Which are you living by?

• When the actor has mastered the material, he is off-script. The best singers don’t read from a sheet. The spaceship sheds it’s fuel tanks when it passes through the atmosphere. Books and learnings are like this.

• Do not dress loudly.

• Do not look to the Government as your provider. It is at best the school-yard referee.

• Do not be moved by praise (temptation), or by persecution (criticism).

• Order is Heaven’s First Law. Put it in your life now and keep it there.

• Doubts are Decisions.

• Emotion is like a yellow-belt. It has it’s basic use. But how long can you hold up a sign before your arms weary?

• Do not let the culture define you. Define yourself.

To Your Success,
Scott Bolan
