Kick Them Right In The Face!

Friday, June 25th, 2010

I have something important to tell you today. It’s not new-agey, and it doesn’t sound very spiritual. But it’s true. Facts change, truth doesn’t. And here’s the truth:

Sometimes you may just need to balls-out kick your opponent square in the face.

Sometimes even a smashing kick to the balls may not be as effective as a solid Kick to The Face.

Yep.

It may be a Rapist. It may be a Terrorist.

Even worse than that…

… (yes, worse)…

… it may be YOUR OWN FEAR.

You may need to just outright f—ing kick your fear square in the teeth – Hard, Fast, and Devastating.

And then you may need to kick it again.

And again.

And again.

Until that fear STOPS Raping…

… and STOPS Killing …

… your dreams.

Until that fear can’t stop you from peeling away the layers of the Onion of ignorance.

Our own ignorance is like the layers of an onion. When all of the layers of ignorance are peeled away, you get to the center, and that is called MASTERY.

Got it?

Good.

Are You Ready for Mastery? Or, do you still find comfort in the excuses fear provides you?

I know the damn mechanism, friend.

Because I was scared sh–less when I opened my first Academy. People attacked me (literally). Friend and foe alike said I would fail.

Then word got out, and people flocked to my Academy in droves. After some ups and downs at that, I took it to the next level.

I took my vision and passion around the world, showing people how to achieve their goals – not only physically but also mentally, spiritually, financially, and in their relationships.

Then I made videos (do we still call them videos? they were VHS back then)

I did it for real, and then it happened FOR REAL.

Then I looked back at my fear, and I asked it a question: “What would have happened if I listened to you?”

The answer was clear: “Nothing.”  No- Thing. Not a damn thing.

Good thing I didn’t listen. Instead, I kicked it so hard that it choked on it’s own blood and broken teeth.

Is that real enough for you?

How’s that for a motivational message?

If this message offends you, get the hell off of my list, and stop visiting my website and blogs.

If this message resonates with you, I welcome you, my friend.

I look forward to sharing the Secrets of Mastery with you, each and every month. Right here. Right now.

Because I do not teach what I have not done.

Do You Like Sparring?

Sunday, April 25th, 2010

Tom Parks here today writing in for Scott.

Do you like Sparring? Bruce Lee considered it the primary method of effective training.

He often said “Truth is in relationship” -  meaning, the only way you’ll know if your techniques actually worked, is if you used them against a real live person who was actively and aggressively resisting you…

… instead of just punching the air! Bruce called that “dry land swimming”

Scott Bolan thought the same way, and in his academies, you sparred the Very
First Night! Yep.

No waiting around two years. No bowing, belts and stripes and stuff. No McDojo
Ninja Turtle stuff.

Scott figured if he gave them a taste of the “real”, even if they never came back, they got more than they’d get in 6 months to a year at most other places.

And here’s what’s friggin’ awesome! They DID come back! In droves! People loved
Scott’s “fight club” so much, he barely advertised and his academies were huge
successes!

(except a rural one, and on a disc in the Master-Secrets Collection, Scott shares
why and how to prevent “dojo failure”)

You see, even in failure you can find successful learnings that set you up for success the next time! Scott ended up creating an empire from a failed dojo and a failed DVD! Yep. I’ll tell you about that tomorrow.

Right now, check this out: Scott shares his “fight club” sparring techniques, his marketing techniques, his “free advertising” techniques, and so much MORE in the 40-disc Master-Secrets Collection, I have to wonder…

… is he friggin’ nuts to be GIVING THESE SECRETS AWAY for pennies?

You’d better check this out

How to Protect Your Energy When Teaching Others

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

Today we have a question from Andrew:

“Hi Scott,

Andrew here and I want to ask you something. In your teachings I remember you
saying, “Stop telling everything you know.” I remember J saying ,”Do
not give your diamonds to wolfs.” This is something that is unresolved
for me because it has come up again. You see I love to teach yet
everytime I teach I walk way feeling seemingly robbed. I am hoping you
will offer some words to this subject so I may take justice over this
matter sooner than later and once and for all. Thank You, Andrew”

Andrew,
Good question. Here’s the answer:

If you love to teach, teaching should not leave you feeling robbed. If you are feeling robbed, it may mean that those you are teaching are not appreciative (deserving) of your teaching.

Also as teachers we must remember that we do not “own” students and we do not “own” the information we are teaching per se, rather it is being channeled through us and the ultimate goal of a teacher is that his student will out-grow him.

If this is the situation, re-check yourself to make sure the ego is not involved.

Another area is money! Many teachers feel shy or awkward about asking for money for their teaching. Years ago I had this hang-up too. Now I know the difference, I charge most of the time, but always help for free when I can where it is appropriate. It’s easy for me to teach for free because teaching is FUN!

Even though I can now command thousands of dollars a day for teaching, I often teach for free, but never to the detriment of paying the bills. I also find that I am constantly guiding and helping those around me socially and people I meet along the way, it just seems to come with the territory of this work. I am happy to do it, because I truly love helping people. That I can also have success at it is a blessing, but the first blessing is just being able to do it.

So be sure you are charging if you have a clientele seeking out your teachings. It’s only right that if you are doing something of value and giving your time, that you be remunerated. If not, you could easily feel robbed, but it wasn’t them robbing you – it was you robbing yourself! So don’t be shy about asking for your payment right at the get-go.

There is one rule I have always had for teaching: the students must be of good character.

If you teach those who are undeserving, it will drain your energy.

If you teach to those who are deserving and grateful, it will empower you and inspire you to do more.

Also, CALIBRATE those you are teaching for their CAPACITY to receive the information.

Some people need to be spoon-fed white-belt stuff.

Others are ready for black-belt stuff on day one.

Calibrate them, and adjust your teachings according to their ability to absorb it.

Never hold out on them if they are ready and deserving of the “good stuff”

Never hold on to them with ego – the ultimate goal is that they should learn themselves out of needing a teacher!

Do not teach those who you cannot help simply for money or for “the hell of it” If you know you can’t help someone, be quick to say so and send them on their way so they can find someone who can help them.

Do not teach those who are ungrateful or cynical. If you do, you are rewarding an undesirable behavior.

NEVER REWARD AN UNDESIRABLE BEHAVIOR.

Teach only “those with ears to hear”

Whatever you tolerate will grow, and if you tolerate undesirable behavior you will get more of it.

Dismiss all students who are negative, cynical, lazy or greedy. You are actually helping them by dismissing them.

Teach only sincere seekers.

Sincerely,
Scott Bolan
